The client set out to develop a specialized mobile and web-based application to digitize and streamline pipe measurement, tracking, and Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) processes used in oil and gas operations. By replacing manual record-keeping with a structured digital platform, the solution enhances accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility across projects.

The application allows users to create, manage, and analyze pipe data and BHA diagrams directly from mobile devices, centralizing all project-related information in one place. It supports complex calculations, specification tracking, and report generation within a unified system. Additionally, a web-based admin panel provides comprehensive control over users, projects, and reporting functionalities, ensuring seamless project management and operational oversight within the oil and gas industry.

Objective

The primary goal was to build a centralized and user-friendly platform for managing pipe tracking and BHA operations. The application needed to simplify complex calculations while ensuring high levels of data accuracy.

The client required a system that allows users to create and manage projects, input measurement data, and generate real-time calculations automatically. It also needed to support structured project naming, editing, and status management.

Another key objective was to enable seamless access to historical project data for reference and comparison. The platform needed to support report generation in multiple formats for operational and compliance requirements.

Additionally, the admin panel was required to manage users, monitor project activities, and maintain system-wide control with proper audit tracking.

Solution

A comprehensive mobile application and web-based admin panel were developed to deliver a structured and efficient user experience.

The mobile app begins with a splash screen followed by secure sign-up and login functionality. Users can register using their details and access the platform after authentication. Password recovery is supported through OTP-based verification to enhance security.

The home screen provides a modern interface with quick access to recent and active projects. Users can search, filter, and manage projects efficiently through an intuitive navigation system.

The core functionality centers around project management. Users can create new projects for pipe tracking or BHA diagrams using a defined naming structure. Each project is linked to a user and can be categorized as active or completed.

The pipe tracking module allows users to input details such as length, joints, casing, and tools. The system automatically performs calculations including cumulative length, averages, and capacity metrics. This significantly reduces manual errors by auto-populating dependent fields based on user inputs.

The system also supports scenarios involving multiple joint lengths and ensures accurate joint count calculations. Built-in validations prevent missing or incomplete data entries.

The BHA diagram module allows users to visually create assemblies by selecting and arranging tools. Each component includes metadata such as dimensions and length, and the system dynamically calculates total assembly length.

Users can edit projects while they remain active and mark them as completed once finalized. Completed projects become read-only to maintain data integrity.

A reporting feature enables users to export project data in PDF and Excel formats, supporting both internal operations and external sharing.

The application also includes profile management features such as password updates, account deletion, and support access. Subscription functionality is integrated through Apple Pay, allowing users to access premium features via paid plans.

On the admin side, a web portal provides complete system control. Admins can manage users, assign projects, and monitor project status across active, completed, and archived categories.

User management features include creating, editing, and deactivating users with proper audit logs. Project management allows full control over project lifecycles.

The admin dashboard offers insights into overall system activity, including project counts, user engagement, and reporting metrics. Activity tracking and quick action tools enhance operational efficiency.

Reporting tools in the admin panel allow data export, while system settings enable management of content, notifications, and configurations.
